10-10-10

This is an interesting date-- 10-10-10. Since the year 2000 we have had several interesting such dates and many people have chosen these as their wedding date. I don't really know anyone who chose today, but I think that would be a GREAT way for a husband to remember the anniversary:)
I've been meaning to get this blog thing going. I love reading other people's blogs and don't really care how many read mine, but I think it is a good outlet and will help satisfy a quick way for my creative outlet that I have not put to very good use in the last few years. So, with that said, I am starting TODAY to try to do a 30-day blog activity. Now, my 30 days may not be all in consecutive order and it may actually take me 60 days to do my 30 days, but I'm gonna give it my best shot. Until next time ...

Long awaited graduation111

Next Friday, Sept. 17th Ryan, our oldest son will graduate from the Kentucky State Police academy in Frankfort. We are so excited and proud for him. Yes, I know one is not to be proud--- but this canNOT be helped. He has worked so hard for this. We will pack up on Thursday and head to Frankfort just as soon as school is out. I will be back with pictures and progress. Be looking a new post after the weekend.

Also, I am taking a photography class AGAIN this semester and I hope to learn more than I did in the summer, which would just about be nothing! I plan to learn how to post pics on my blog and change the font. Eventually I want to do a make-over on the blog, but it will have to wait a little bit longer.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We are headed to the lake in the morning. I"ll let you know what fun and exciting things we do.

HAPPY EASTER

Happy Easter! This is such a beautiful time of year. With the trees
and flowers blooming and the daylight lasting longer it makes for much
brighter days. I can remember years past of rushng around like a crazy
chicken getting things ready for the kids for Easter. Easter outfits,
Easter baskets, Easter menus, Easter eggs, Easter dinner, and Easter
shoes. This has been a year of not really having to do any of those
things. As the kids are all beginning their adult lives, I get to sit
back and watch. I look forward to doing those things again with the next
generation, but for now I'm just fine resting.

Happy New Year 2010 !!!

Doesn't it just seem like last week that we were getting our preparedness kits together for the year 2000? Can it already be 10 years later? time sure does fly as you get older. Or should I say as you get wiser? why is it that everywhere I go, except the nursing home, everyone is younger than I am. My dr. is younger than me, my dentist is younger than me, my therapist (physical and occupational) is younger than me, the waitress is younger than me, my students parents and even some of their grandparents are younger than me. I suppose that means that I am to be their mentors-- shoot I"m still waiting for someone to mentor me!!

Anyway, I am still waiting to do Christmas with Shelby and Michelle and then I can say I'm finished with Christmas for this year. I am NOT looking forward snow. It is forecasted for sometime this week. I do NOT look forward to snow days. I would much rather have summer days.

I must turn in to get my beauty and wise sleep. You see, as I get older, I require more sleep. And, I'm already about an hour behind tonight. So, here's to a wonderful week with NO snow!!:)
